THE LOCAL AREA

The picturesque village of Sandsend lies on Yorkshire’s heritage coastline, between Runswick Bay and Whitby, you can enjoy a lovely walk along the beach to Whitby. There are fine views down the coast towards the romantic ruins of Whitby Abbey which is said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Sandsend beach is popular with fossil hunters, fishermen and walkers.  In summer an area of the beach is zoned off for swimming.

There are plenty of beachside cafes, restaurants and a smattering of independent shops to explore.

Cannot praise this company and property highly enough.

We booked Woodcutters Cottage for my husbands birthday, as a long weekend. Just gorgeous!

We lit the log burner and were so comfy and cosy. Went to Fish Cottage for a meal, lovely!

Nice stroll around Whitby and cocktails overlooking the harbour.

Sandsend, Estbeck House restaurant was fantastic for a birthday celebration, great to social with the other diners!

Loved the fact we were so close to the sea and the beck flowing outside the cottage. Too cold to sit out but would be beautiful in warm weather for breakfast, reading a book or chill time in the evening and drinks.

Cannot praise this company and property highly enough, really hope we can book again soon! Beautiful Escapes were a pleasure to deal with.
