Sag Harbour cottage brings The Hamptons to the Yorkshire coast, super stylish coastal chic with a laid back easy feel, furnished with comfort in mind and everything you need for a seaside retreat nestled amongst woodland on the Raithwaite Estate in the picturesque village of Sandsend with its expansive beach just a mile from Whitby on the spectacular Yorkshire coast.

Owners Peter and Oxana have taken great care in the creation of three very special places to be, beside the sea, Sag Harbour has two neighbouring cottages, each sleeping six guests, the cottages can be booked separately or together for up to 18 guests.

The open plan living space is on the first floor and affords views out to the woodland surrounding the cottage while two bathrooms three bedrooms accommodating up to six guests are arranged on the ground floor. The pretty terrace to the front of the cottage is the perfect place to enjoy al fresco dining or for simply relaxing with a good book on a warm summer’s day.

Building and excavation works are currently taking place at the Raithwaite Estate.

Living Space

Set on the first floor the living, kitchen and dining spaces are open plan, perfect for when the cook of the day is creating a tasty supper and everyone can join in the chit chat catching up on the day’s adventures and when you want to kick back and watch a movie there is an Apple T.V. and superfast Wi-Fi.

Sag Habour Suite

This is a room for rest and relaxation with soft colours and beautiful bed linens, there is an Apple T.V. and en-suite too.

Suffolk County Bedroom

Touches of earthy green in the furniture contrast beautifully with the light neutral decor in this inviting bedroom and when you want to steel away and snuggle up to watch a bedtime movie there is an Apple T.V.  This bedroom shares the house bathroom with Southampton bedroom.

Southampton Bedroom

Coast meets country in this bedroom which is furnished with warm pine furniture complimented by the light decor and coastal blue accessories, like the other bedrooms there is an Apple T.V. here too. This bedroom shares the house bathroom with Suffolk County bedroom.

Terrace & Grounds

There is a terrace to the front of the cottage with a table and chairs for when you want to make the most of the warmer days and you can explore the woodland and walks around the Estate too.

THE LOCAL AREA

The picturesque village of Sandsend lies on Yorkshire’s heritage coastline, between Runswick Bay and Whitby, you can enjoy a lovely walk along the beach to Whitby. There a fine views down the coast towards the romantic ruins of Whitby Abbey which is said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Sandsend beach is popular with fossil hunters, fishermen and walkers.  In summer an area of the beach is zoned off for swimming.

There are plenty of beachside cafes, restaurants and a smattering of independent shops to explore.

Dog friendly beach all year round with a designated area in May to October.

Sag Harbour is a beautiful property in a great location, we loved everything about it, so spacious and stylish a lovely interior. Sandsend is a great place with a fantastic beach this stretch of coast is spectacular, we all loved our stay here and can’t wait to come back!
