The Hay Barn is a very special two bedroom, two bathroom stunning barn conversion set in over 10 acres. Located in the hamlet of Brackenthwaite just 4 miles from the centre of Harrogate.

Owner Lucy has overseen the conversion of this characterful stone barn into a stunning holiday home. It features exquisite interior design with lots of interesting features and talking points. From the four poster bed looking out over the fields to the luxurious spa bathrooms, open plan living space and terrace with far reaching views across open countryside, this is a beautiful place to escape to.

Dog friendly, up to 2 small/medium dogs are very welcome to stay.

Set in 10 acres, open countryside all around, walking and cycling from the door and with 4 dog friendly pubs within 2 miles and only 10 minutes from Harrogate, it is an idyllic place to be.

Living Space

As soon as you step into the barn you immediately feel at home, it has a lovely, warm, welcoming vibe. With high quality furnishings throughout and lots of quirky features, it is a beautifully designed space.

The living area is open plan with separate zones for cooking, dining and relaxing. There’s a handy desk area too for anyone who needs to mix work and leisure time.

Comfy sofas set around a log burner and underfloor heating are perfect for chilly evenings and on warmer days open the French doors to the terrace and enjoy the views with a sundowner, the perfect end to a day spent exploring.

Kitchen & Dining

The kitchen is beautifully appointed, spacious and connected to the main living space so the cook can join in the chatter too. The dining nook is perfect for gathering together, sharing supper and catching up on the day’s adventures. Or enjoy morning coffee while you spread out the maps and plan your day.

Terrace Suite

Set on the ground floor with a king four poster bed. The en-suite bathroom has a walk in shower, perfect for an invigorating start to the day. French doors open onto the terrace and surrounding gardens with far reaching views, this bright, beautiful room is just the tonic for rest and relaxation

Spa Suite

Located on the first floor, this room is light and airy with a soft, cool, colour pallette and enjoys incredible views out across the open countryside all around. The en-suite bathroom has a spa feel, with a spacious walk in shower, double vanity basins and a stunning freestanding bathtub, perfect for a long soak after a day out hiking across the spectacular countryside or perhaps after a day out shopping in Harrogate!

Terrace & Gardens

There is an enclosed terrace and garden off the main living space, furnished with table and chairs and a BBQ, this is a lovely spot for al fresco dining while taking in the spectacular countryside all around, there are over 10 acres for you to explore.

With majestic buildings housing art galleries and fine antique shops, a morning can easily be whiled away hunting out some treasures to take home before relaxing over lunch in one of the many brasseries or opt for the traditional Betty’s tea room in the heart of the town.
