REVIEWS

We love to hear back from our guests to find out their experience with Beautiful Escapes.

June 2023

Hendricks hollow is beautiful cottage set in a stunning and quiet location. The cottage is well equipped with everything required for a perfect stay, including its own private garden and parking area. The cottage is attached to the owner’s home which is handy if you require anything, but set in a position that makes it feel seculded. Hendricks Hollow is set on the edge of a small village with a pub just a short walk away. There are plenty of small towns and attractions within a short drive of the cottage which makes it ideal as a base to stay at. We have stayed in the area before and still find plenty of new things to see and do, or you can just have a relaxing day at cottage and use the private garden if the weather is suitable.
We found the booking process easy and straight forward and better than other rental sites. This is our 2nd stay with Beautifull Escapes and will definitely book again.

The cottage was just perfect and in a stunning part of the world!
You could not ask for better hosts, friendly, helpful and the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.  The cottage was beautifully decorated, immaculately presented and clean and comfortable.  We thoroughly enjoyed the generous welcome basket and loved sitting in the private garden listening and watching the many birds as they hopped in and out of their hideaway nests in the roof of the cottage and hearing the horses in the nearby field neighing when excited.  The best of the wonderful wildlife was viewing the proud barn owl as he circled the grounds in so much splendour.
We loved the close vicinity of the Moors with the pretty little villages, the coastal towns of Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay and the spectacular Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs with the spectacle of nature as the soaring and swooping seabirds combined with panoramic sea views is unforgettable.
Loved it all and hope to return before too long.

The first impression of Hendrick’s Hollow is that it is even better than the photos in real life, it is a beautiful home from home.

The cottage is ideally located for exploring North Yorkshire lovely walks to Sutton Bank White Horse, and Helmsley to Rievaulx are well worth it. We recommend the New Malton in Malton and The Magpie Cafe in Whitby for fish and chips.

We certainly hope to be back!

This was a return visit for us and the cottage and welcome we received was as lovely as ever, and the welcome pack was great!

The weather has been mixed but we’ve still managed to pack our week with walks from Helmsley to Rievaulx, Kirkdale and the riverside walk at Nunnington. Visits to Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall were all good.

Thank you to Phil & Clare for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage again.

Thank you for making us feel so welcome with amazing hamper of goodies and fresh flowers which shows that you really care about your guests

The cottage is beautiful very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It is in a perfect location to explore the countryside and coast.

Another lovely visit – best weather! We have enjoyed visiting old favourites and discovered some new places to visit. The highlight was seeing the Black Browed Albatross at Bempton Cliffs!

Thanks for making us so welcome land looking after us so well.

We’ve had a great week at the Hollow.

Plenty of space, very comfortable, fully equipped kitchen huge, comfortable bed and the added bonus of a private garden.

We packed a lot into our week including trips to the coast, cycling in Dalby forest, hiring a boat in York, and exploring the villages.

The Hollow was a great location to explore the area and provided us with a luxury retreat in the evening.

Thanks for a great stay.

We’ve had a delightful few days at Hendrick’s Hollow. The cottage has been ideal – so beautifully furnished . . . and such a comfortable bed!

We have had an amazing week here at Hendrick’s Hollow for our honeymoon. We wanted somewhere peaceful, cosy and tucked away and that’s exactly what we got. Clare & Phil went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even left us a bottle of bubbly to celebrate. The welcome basket is a lovely touch and was great after a day of travelling.

Thank you Phil & Clare for such a lovely hideaway to stay in, we will definitely be back!

We have had a really lovely week here – some beautiful weather and great walks. We loved walks from Hutton-le-hole, from Cho Gate over the Moors and from Helmsley.

It was great to go to the coast too – Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay were lovely.

We’ve eaten really well . . . .! Sunday lunch in Wombleton, La Trattoria in Helmsley and fish and chips from Kirkbymoorside were really good.

The cottage has been perfect – really comfy and relaxing to be in. Thank you Clare & Phil for making is so lovely. We will be back!

We are so glad we found Hendrick’s Hollow – a perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning countryside around. Our personal highlights have been:-

  • Rievaulx Abbey
  • Driving across the Moors to spend the day in Whitby
  • Pie Night in The Sun pub i the village
  • Delicious cakes and afternoon pottering around the shops in Malton (coffee & cake at THe Hidden Monkey)
  • Hutton – le – Hole such a beautiful village

We look forward to coming back again when hopefully it wont be so windy. Thank you Phil & Clare for creating such a lovely home from hoe, and for allowing us to stay an extra night so we didn’t have to drive home in the storm.

Dear Angela,

We just wanted to pass on what a lovely property the above is and how it really made our holiday. We had such a warm welcome from Claire and she made us feel very relaxed. We arrived to find a very generous Welcome basket and the property was  beautifully decorated and very clean. Every aspect had been given thought to, to make our stay comfortable. We particularly found the Visitor guides and maps of the local area very useful and helpful.

Please could you pass this on, because we would like to know Claire’s hard work is really appreciated and it is definitely a property we would like to stay at again, or would  recommend to friends,  if coming to that area again,

Kindest Regards,
Christine and Paul June 2021
