Hay Barn is one of a collection of four lovingly restored holiday barns set on an award winning eco friendly arable farm just 10 miles south of the historic City of York. Owners Brigita and Richard have created a sustainable model for the farm that extends to the holiday barns. The barns were sustainably restored using only renewable sources for all your energy needs, carbon neutral.

Hay Barn is an open gallery oak truss frame barn, filled with light, it has an easy flow throughout, a relaxed and welcoming place to be.

The living space is set on the first floor to take advantage of the views across the garden and open countryside. Taking centre stage in the living space is a beautiful oak dining table seating up 12, perfect for gathering when more than one of the barns are booked together.

Set on the ground floor are three en-suite bedrooms, all beautifully furnished and each with access to the garden creating perfect retreats for resting and relaxation.

In summer, throw open the French doors and enjoy breakfast al fresco in the garden or fire up the BBQ in the evening. On chilly days, the barn is warmed by underfloor heating and a log burner, keeping it warm and cosy whatever the weather.

The Long Barn is an entertaining barn onsite, which can be booked and set up for celebrations and events, a chef can be arranged for catering too. Contact us for more information about hiring the Long Barn.

A great location ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside, yet only a short drive from the City where you can enjoy the museums, galleries and shops.
