The Grand Barn is one of a collection of four lovingly restored holiday barns set on an award winning eco friendly arable farm just 10 miles south of the historic City of York. Owners Brigita and Richard have created a sustainable model for the farm that extends to the holiday barns. The barns were sustainably restored using only renewable sources for all your energy needs, carbon neutral.

The newly renovated Grand Barn is the jewel in the crown, great care has been taken to preserve the historical features and farming antiquities have been skilfully incorporated into the design alongside all of the modern conveniences and creature comforts you would expect from a contemporary and luxurious holiday home.

The Grand Barn is aptly named, step inside and you can’t fail to be impressed by the double height grand entrance. The open plan layout makes the most of the light and space, with cosy seating areas, a log burner, mezzanine lounge with smart TV and the kitchen is every cook’s dream. With 4 en-suite bedrooms, all beautifully furnished, there is room for gatherings and quiet spaces too. There is an additional bedroom situated in an annex adjacent to the barn (The Sack Store) which can be booked for an additional charge to sleep an extra 2 guests, please enquire prior to booking. Outside there is a pretty courtyard garden with BBQ perfect for al fresco suppers on warmer days.

The Long Barn is an entertaining barn onsite, it can be hired for events and celebrations, a chef can be arranged for catering too. There is access from the Grand Barn to the Long Barn, which has a full wall of glass doors opening onto the lawn in front of the Grand Barn. Contact us for more information about hiring the entertaining barn.

There are fantastic walks and cycling routes straight from the door, yet it is only a short drive from the City. Perfect for soaking in the culture of the museums, galleries and shops in York and also being able to immerse yourself in the stunning countryside on the doorstep.

REVIEWS

We love to hear back from our guests to find out their experience with Beautiful Escapes.

December 2023

We had a very enjoyable three days in your property. I didn’t play any part in booking the place, all I did was pay for it, but left it to my daughters to make the choice. I was very impressed with it, and especially the kitchen. Everthing was finished to a very high standard and it was extremely comfortable. My daughters liked it too,, which is always a good yardstick.

We didn’t see much of the surrounding area as we hired the place so we could meet with our twin grandchildren who are at university and help them celebrate their 20th birthday.

The booking process was good, very easy, and we would be happy to book with you again.

Regards

Arthur and family
