Owner Diane, is an interior designer and you can see her attention to detail throughout, underfloor heating, soft linens, plush fabrics and carefully chosen furniture all make for a relaxing stay.

Living Space

From the light filled entrance hall there are a few steps leading to the main living area which is spacious and beautifully designed by Diane, with a mid-century feel, complemented by stylish fabrics and furnishings french doors open on to the balcony overlooking the pretty courtyard.

Penthouse Suite

Double doors lead from the living space to the beautiful bedroom, soft carpets underfoot and pretty pastels create a relaxing retreat style bedroom while exquisite linens and soft furnishings provide that luxe feel that is Diane’s trademark.

Balcony & Courtyard Garden

There is a lovely balcony with table and chairs, the perfect spot for morning coffee or to enjoy a sundowner while you watch the world go by!

There is also a shared, pretty courtyard garden with seating for your enjoyment, it is just through the archway as you enter Chiltern Place.

  • If it’s a sunny evening the terrace at The Talbot is fab for a drink and the food is lovely here too.  (The inside bar is very cosy)
  • Chinese, the best is the Queens Head at Amotherby, a short drive away – also do takeaway
  • Chapter 1 Bistro if you fancy a brilliant burger and chips

THE LOCAL AREA

Malton is the quintessential Yorkshire market town, traditional in the best sense and yet, with its new foodie scene, chic boutiques & festivals it’s also very modern and up to date. Located on the north of the River Derwent on the historic boundary between the North and East Ridings of Yorkshire.

The town is known as a top foodie destination with its famous food festival, monthly food market, Malton Cookery School, traditional food shops and ‘Made in Malton’ artisan producers. It was Antonio Carluccio who first called the town, “Yorkshire’s Food Capital!”. It also has a large number of excellent independent shops.

As well as Malton’s traditional weekly market every Saturday, there’s an exciting range of food-related events in the town, including the Malton Monthly Food Market (second Saturday of each month) – with cooking demos and live music – an annual Malton Food Lovers’ Festival (in May) and even a cookery school where you can dine in style at the ‘Chef’s Table’. You get also go behind the scenes of the artisan producers on one of the very popular Malton Food Tours.

Relive the dramatic experiences of life during World War II, visit nearby Eden Camp, a former Prisoner-of-War Camp turned modern history museum, other areas to visit include the famous North Yorkshire Coast, Castle Howard in the Howardian Hills AONB, and of course the North York Moors.

We had a great 3 days in Malton. The Penthouse in Chiltern Place is beautiful-so comfortable, relaxing with lovely décor & furnishings. It is ideally located too. We enjoyed our time in Malton and visited Castle Howard at Christmas and went to Helmsley.

We would defintiely recommend and I am sure we will be back.

The booking process was very easy and we would book with Beautiful Escapes again.

We really enjoyed our stay in Malton, the penthouse apartment is fantastic, right in the centre of this beautiful little town with parking!

Food wise we ate in Florio’s an authentic Italian -fabulous! Also, Chapter One is great for a light bite. If you fancy a beer check out Black Castle Brewery.

We went to Castle Howard, well worth a visit as was the pub close by for a Sunday lunch, – Crown and Cushion in Welburn.

We have had a wonderful week. Lovely apartment.Enjoyed breakfast every morning outside on the balcony in the sunshine (in March!!!)

Malton is a lovely Town, loved the shops/food/pubs and friendly people.

Good food and service at La Trattoria and The New Malton, finished the week off with Afternoon Tea at The Talbot.

Visited Filey/ Farnham / Daffodil Walk / Nunnington /Hall / Castle Howard.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay at Diane’s apartment. The accommodation is beautiful decorated and absolutely spotless. Diane was very helpful, providing some nice recommendations for the area and was very quick to respond to any communication from us.
Malton is a very pretty place and a great base for exploring more of Yorkshire. We would highly recommend Diane’s apartment to anyone!

We had a lovely week long stay in Malton. The apartment was beautiful, comfortable, and conveniently located just off the main square. Communication from Diane was excellent, with clear check in instructions and recommendations on where to eat/visit during our stay. Parking was easy with a dedicated parking space and Malton was an excellent base from which we explored the wider area. We would happily stay again.
