Cottontail Cabin is a luxurious haven set in the pretty village of Finghall, just 4 miles from the popular market town of Leyburn in the Yorkshire Dales. Jo, the owner, has a flare for interior design,  from the monogrammed linens to the Emma Bridgewater crockery, everything has been carefully selected and brought together to create a magical escape set in rolling countryside.

The open plan living space has a comfy sofa, a flickering fire for chilly evenings and the kitchen is well appointed with everything you need for cooking up hearty breakfasts or tasty suppers – the dining table magically flips into a snooker or ping pong table providing lots of fun for everyone!

With two bedrooms, stylishly furnished with comfort and luxury in mind, one with a super king bed and one with two single beds adorned with soft, sumptuous linens and cloud like pillows, sleeping up to 4 guests in absolute comfort.

There is a private garden looking out across the paddock which is home to the friendliest Shetland ponies you could wish to meet while the wraparound deck is the perfect place to relax and take in the scenery, dine al fresco or a enjoy warming soak in the hot tub under a starlit sky!

In the village there is a popular gastro pub serving good beer and great food, there are so many wonderful dining spots all around this beautiful area, or for a treat you can even book a private chef for the evening to come to the Cabin and cook supper for you!

There is so much to explore in this spectacular part of Yorkshire including walking and cycling routes from the door and you can hop aboard Wensleydale steam train at the little village station for a sightseeing trip along the Dale.

Two dogs are welcome to stay at Cottontail Cabin.

Cottontail Cabin & Br'er Rabbit are two cottages at the same location which can be booked spearately 4 guests or together for 8 guests. Each cottage is completely separate and private from the other.

Living Space

The open plan living, kitchen and dining space is at the heart of Cottontail Cabin, relax on the comfy sofa by the flickering fire on chilly evenings, perfect for watching your favourite movies, listening to music or enjoying a good book. Cook up tasty dishes with local ingredients that can be found in local markets and deli’s and afterwards flip the dining table to enjoy a game of ping pong or snooker for a spot of after supper fun!

Cottontail Suite

This beautifully appointed super king suite has everything you could wish for to make the most of a restful and relaxing stay, the furnishings are soft and luxurious, the bed has a sumptuously comfy mattress and with extra touches such as a Smart TV for when you want to have a laid back start to the day or an early night watching your favourite movie after a day spent exploring the rolling countryside all around make this the perfect bedroom for a beautiful escape.

Flopsy & Mopsy

Full of character and pretty furnishings this is the perfect room for one guest with lots of space to retreat and unwind and with an additional single bed for when there are two guests it offers flexibility for all occasions.

Bathroom

Beautifully appointed with a freestanding bathtub, perfect for soothing any aching muscles after a day spent adventuring in the Dales and a walk in shower for when you want to an invigorating start to the day.

Dogs

Cottontail Cabin welcomes dogs.

  • Two well behaved dogs are welcome, no bigger than a medium labrador.
  • Dogs are not allowed upstairs.
  • Dogs are not allowed on the furniture.
  • Muddy/wet dogs must be cleaned off before entering the cottage, there is a hosepipe set up for this
  • Dogs must not be left alone in the property unless they are crated
  • Dog toileting must take place away from the cottage and any mess cleaned up.
  • There may be a charge if additional cleaning is required.
