Br’er Rabbit Barn is a luxurious retreat set in the pretty village of Finghall, just 4 miles from the popular market town of Leyburn in the Yorkshire Dales. Jo, the owner, has a flare for interior design, from the monogrammed linens to the Emma Bridgewater crockery, everything has been carefully selected and brought together to create a magical escape set in rolling countryside.

The open plan living space has a comfy sofa, a log burner for chilly evenings and the kitchen is well appointed with everything you need for cooking up hearty breakfasts or tasty suppers. Wherever you are in the Barn you can enjoy wonderful views across the beautiful countryside!

With two bedrooms, stylishly furnished with comfort and luxury in mind, one with a super king bed and one king bed, adorned with soft, sumptuous linens and cloud like pillows, sleeping up to 4 guests in absolute comfort.

There is a private garden looking out across the paddock which is home to the friendliest Shetland ponies you could wish to meet while the wood fired hot tub beckons for a late night soak under the stars.

In the village there is a popular gastro pub serving good beer and great food, there are so many wonderful dining spots all around this beautiful area, or for a treat you can even book a private chef for the evening to come to the Barn and cook supper for you!

There is so much to explore in this spectacular part of Yorkshire including walking and cycling routes from the door and you can hop aboard Wensleydale steam train at the little village station for a sightseeing trip along the Dale.

Br'er Rabbit & Cottontail Cabin are two cottages at the same location which can be booked spearately 4 guests or together for 8 guests. Each cottage is completely separate and private from the other.

PROPERTY DETAILS

Living Space

The living space is beautifully furnished with two large, comfy sofas, arranged to take in the views out to the lovely garden and the rolling countryside surrounding the Barn. On chilly days light up the log burner to keep you cosy and with a Smart T.V. you can enjoy movies anytime you want to kick back and relax.

For discerning cooks the kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and microwave, open to the dining and seating areas this is a sociable space where everyone can gather to together to rustle up a tasty supper and catch up on the day’s adventures.

Patio doors lead to a stone patio with garden furniture, a lovely spot for a sundowner and with a wood fired hot tub looking out across the valley it is the perfect place to enjoy stargazing as the night falls.

 

Br'er Rabbit Suite

Br’er Suite is a beautifully appointed room with a gentle colour palette for rest and relaxation, filled with light from the full length windows looking out to the garden and countryside beyond.  Jo’s love of Emma Bridgewater designs can also be seen with the pretty DAB radio, there is a T.V. too if you want to enjoy a lazy day watching your favourite movie from the super comfy bed.

Hopping Hare Suite

Light floods in from the floor to ceiling windows in this king bedroom with views out across the garden, it is a spacious room and includes a useful dressing area with a desk. Pretty country fabrics adorn the windows and add a touch of colour making this a room you will be happy to return to at the end of a day spent exploring all that glorious Yorkshire has to offer.

Garden & Hot Tub

The beautiful garden is the perfect spot for a sundowner and al fresco dining with views out across the paddocks and countryside beyond, the wood fired hot tub is a must for late night bubbles under a starlit sky!

Dogs

Br’er Rabbit Barn welcomes dogs.

  • Two well behaved dogs are welcome, no bigger than a medium labrador.
  • Dogs are not allowed upstairs.
  • Dogs are not allowed on the furniture.
  • Muddy/wet dogs must be cleaned off before entering the cottage, there is a hosepipe set up for this
  • Dogs must not be left alone in the property unless they are crated
  • Dog toileting must take place away from the cottage and any mess cleaned up.
  • There may be a charge if additional cleaning is required.
